Stefon Diggs likely to join New York Jets
Stefon Diggs is one of the top available players in the NFL's free-agent market. The wide receiver, a four-time Pro Bowler, previously played for the Buffalo Bills. His last season in 2024 was disrupted by a torn ACL, limiting him to eight games. Although he is not the elite player he once was, he could be a valuable addition for teams looking for help at wide receiver. The New York Jets are one of those teams. They recently released star wideout Davante Adams and may also part ways with Allen Lazard. This leaves Garrett Wilson as their primary target, which creates a need for another receiver. ESPN's Bill Barnwell suggests that Diggs could end up in New York as a solid No. 2 option alongside Wilson. With a projected one-year deal of $13.7 million, Diggs fits within the Jets' budget, as they have $32.2 million in salary cap space. However, there are concerns about Diggs' past behavior. He has shown frustration with teams when things don't go well. If the Jets struggle, there's a chance he could become unhappy. While Diggs might want to join a more competitive team, the NFL is unpredictable. For now, the Jets remain a possible landing spot for the veteran receiver.
