Stefon Diggs likely to sign with Seattle Seahawks
Stefon Diggs, a seasoned NFL wide receiver, is currently a free agent after playing for the Houston Texans in 2024. He has been recognized as one of the top players in his position for nearly ten years. After recovering from an ACL injury that cut his last season short, he is considering his options for the upcoming season. As many teams are in need of strong wide receivers, Diggs is likely to have several choices. Reports suggest he may be interested in signing with a competitive team to pursue a Super Bowl title, a feat he has yet to achieve. The Seattle Seahawks have emerged as a potential landing spot for him. According to Nick Shook from NFL.com, the Seahawks could benefit from bringing in Diggs. They have the salary cap space and have already signed veteran receiver Cooper Kupp, who also has a history of injuries. Adding Diggs would help the team fill the gap left by the departures of Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf. In the 2024 season, Diggs played eight games, recording 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns. Before his injury, he was showing good chemistry with quarterback C.J. Stroud. Throughout his career, Diggs has consistently performed well, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards for six consecutive years before the injury. The Seahawks are looking to enhance their receiving corps and could sign Diggs for a one-year deal valued just under $14 million. With around $70 million in cap space, this addition appears financially feasible for the team, as they aim to bolster their offensive strength.
