Stellantis partners with Luvly to explore compact EV design
A major global car manufacturer has teamed up with Swedish electric vehicle company Luvly. They have signed a one-year agreement to explore the possibility of using Luvly's flat-pack electric vehicle design to grow their own quadricycle business. The carmaker, Stellantis, oversees well-known brands like Citroen and Peugeot. Luvly's innovative 'O' quadricycle aims to offer an affordable electric vehicle for city driving. Priced around £8,500, it can be shipped flat-packed, allowing for cheaper transport. Instead of delivering fully assembled cars, Luvly sends the components to microfactories where they are put together. Stellantis is interested in Luvly's unique chassis design, which uses large composite panels. This design is said to have the potential to change how vehicles are built and designed. If successful, it could benefit both companies and the wider automotive industry. The Luvly O is not yet available for sale but features a 6.4kWh battery, with a maximum range of 62 miles. The battery can be removed for charging, either at home or in the office, making it convenient for urban living. Stellantis is considering expanding its quadricycle options, building on the success of its Citroen Ami model. The Luvly O is light, weighing only 400 kg, and offers impressive safety features comparable to those in Formula One cars. Overall, this partnership could pave the way for new, efficient transportation solutions that appeal to city dwellers.
