Stellantis reports 19.8% drop in U.S. auto sales for third quarter

Stellantis reported U.S. sales of 305,294 vehicles in the third quarter, marking a 19.8% drop from the same period last year. This decline continues a trend of falling sales for the automaker. The company also saw an 11.5% decrease compared to the previous quarter. Stellantis was projected to be the worst performer among major automakers, with forecasts predicting a 21% decline. Despite the overall drop, Stellantis noted a slight increase in market share from 7.2% to 8% and an 11.6% reduction in vehicle inventory. All brands except Fiat experienced sales declines, with Chrysler and Dodge seeing reductions of over 40%.
