Steven Ashworth is 24 years old
Steven Ashworth, a guard for Creighton, is 24 years old. He will turn 25 on May 1. Ashworth is one of the most experienced players in college basketball. He is currently in his fifth season, thanks to an extra year of eligibility from the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His college career started later than most. Before attending college, Ashworth served as a missionary after high school. He began playing at Utah State in 2020 when he was 20 years old. He played there for three seasons before transferring to Creighton after the 2022-23 season. During the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Ashworth stood out in a game against Louisville. He scored 20 points, contributing to Creighton's 89-75 win. Ashworth is also married and has a son named Tommy Jay, born in June 2024. This season, he is averaging 16.3 points, along with 6.8 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. He has been particularly effective in shooting, making 38.9% of his shots and 36.9% of his three-pointers. His free-throw percentage of 92.6% is among the best in Division I basketball.
