Stockton police arrest 27 in trafficking operation
The Stockton Police Department has intensified its efforts to combat human trafficking and prostitution. Recently, they carried out a large enforcement operation that led to the arrest of 27 individuals involved in these activities. On March 7, police conducted two sweeps in areas such as Navy Drive and Sierra Nevada Street. During these operations, they cited 19 people suspected of prostitution and arrested one person on charges of pimping. In addition, police made seven traffic stops and issued citations to others soliciting prostitution. Authorities provided support to those arrested. They offered resources through victim-witness representatives to help individuals leave the lifestyle. Two people accepted this assistance. The San Joaquin County Family Justice Center offers help to anyone who may be a victim of human trafficking. They have a 24-hour helpline at (209) 948-1911 and provide information on healing and support. More details can be found at weshallprevail.org.
