Stones damaged Patna-New Delhi Vande Bharat train

A Vande Bharat train traveling from Patna to New Delhi was attacked with stones on Thursday evening. This incident occurred near Jaswantnagar station in Etawah district. As the high-speed train slowed down for a cautionary signal, stones were thrown at it, breaking a window in the C1 coach. Passengers were startled, but no one was hurt during the incident. The train driver continued the journey without stopping to ensure safety. Officials later inspected the train at Aligarh station, about 80 kilometers away. Railway protection force inspector Gajendra Pal Singh reported that the situation was quickly controlled. Authorities have launched an investigation to find the suspects. A case has been registered, and officers are collecting witness statements. The motive behind the stone-throwing remains unclear. However, authorities noted that these types of incidents sometimes happen due to local disputes or protests. North Central Railway spokesperson Amit Kumar Singh confirmed there was only minor damage and stated that security along the Delhi-Howrah corridor will be re-evaluated.
