Storm causes power outages for over 600,000 in northwest US and results in one death

Flood and high wind watches are in effect for northern California, with up to 8 inches of rain expected in some areas. A winter storm watch is also in place for the northern Sierra Nevada, predicting significant snowfall and hazardous travel conditions.
