Stray dogs kill 17 sheep, baby donkey in Tulare
In Tulare County, California, a series of attacks by stray dogs has alarmed residents. Over the past three weeks, several outdoor animals have been targeted, resulting in significant losses. The first reported incident involved 20 sheep owned by Denise Creelman. She received a call early one morning about the attack. Denise described the scene as gruesome, with 17 sheep dead and three still recovering. She estimated the financial loss at thousands of dollars. Denise expressed sorrow over the situation, stating that dogs often kill for fun rather than food. Witnesses reported seeing three dogs around the time of the attack. Local authorities were notified, and while they managed to capture two of the dogs, one remains unaccounted for. About a week and a half later, the dogs attacked a family of donkeys, which included a mother, father, and their baby, Scotty. Unfortunately, Scotty did not survive due to severe injuries. Julia Maze, the owner of the donkeys, was away when the incident occurred. She mentioned that the parents are receiving medical attention and have a long recovery ahead. Julia expressed gratitude for the support she has received from the community. Local authorities, including animal services and the sheriff's office, have not yet confirmed the details surrounding these attacks. The residents of Tulare County continue to worry about the safety of their animals.
