Stroke cases among young adults rise significantly in India, says Indian Stroke Association
The Indian Stroke Association reports a significant rise in strokes among younger adults, with cases in the 30-40 age group increasing from 5% to 10-15%. This trend includes even younger individuals aged 20 to 30. To address this issue, the ISA launched "Mission Brain Attack" in Ahmedabad, aimed at raising awareness about stroke prevention and care. The initiative includes training for healthcare professionals and public education on recognizing stroke symptoms. Dr. Sharma noted that timely treatment is crucial, as three people experience a stroke every minute in India. The campaign emphasizes the importance of acting quickly within the critical treatment window to improve patient outcomes.
