Strong storms and tornado threat in Charlotte region
Strong storms are expected to hit the Charlotte area on Sunday morning, bringing heavy rain, gusty winds, and a potential tornado. A tornado watch was issued at 6:14 a.m. for parts of southeastern North Carolina and eastern South Carolina, lasting until 2 p.m. From 7 to 8 a.m., the Charlotte area may experience tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings. Wind gusts could reach over 50 mph, posing risks of damage and debris. The storm is expected to move out by 10 a.m., leading to drier weather for the rest of the day. A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m., with high temperatures in the 70s and cooler weather forecasted for Monday.
