Strongsville will sell 87.5 acres of industrial land
Strongsville, Ohio, plans to sell 87 1⁄2 acres of city-owned industrial land as it extends Foltz Parkway. This extension will add about 2,000 feet to the road. The City Council approved hiring a real estate firm to handle the sale on March 3. The city hopes to attract industrial businesses, such as factories and warehouses. Construction on the Foltz extension has already started. According to Brent Painter, the city’s economic development director, the new road will improve access to the remaining land the city owns on Foltz Parkway South. The extension is expected to be completed by October. The city has hired Fechko Excavating LLC from Medina for the project. They will receive $4.3 million for their work. The updated Foltz Parkway will feature three lanes and include a center turning lane. It will end in a cul-de-sac and will cross a creek, requiring the installation of a culvert. The project will also provide new storm and sanitary sewers, water lines, and a 10-foot-wide multipurpose path. This follows a previous extension completed in 2005, which allowed the city to sell 23 acres to CCL Label Inc. That company built a new research and development center, employing over 100 workers since its opening in late 2023 to early 2024.
