Student brutally attacked at Morrinsville College, Waikato
A 13-year-old girl was severely beaten at Morrinsville College in Waikato. The incident followed previous attempts by another student to assault her. The victim was chased, punched, and kicked. A video shows the attacker holding the girl by her hair and stomping on her head. The victim's parents reported earlier incidents of bullying. They claimed the attacker had previously tried to trip their daughter and had warned her to apologize for a supposed offense. In an attempt to avoid further trouble, the girl stayed home from school. After reporting the incident to a teacher, the victim faced further attacks. The attacker called her a "snitch bitch" and physically assaulted her again. The school denied any frequent issues with violence among students. In a related incident, a student at Haeata Community Campus in Christchurch attacked two teachers with scissors. That student has been suspended and could face expulsion as investigations continue.
