Students raise waste management awareness through street play

Students from Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management held a street play at City Centre Mall to raise awareness about waste management. They partnered with Prithvi Mitra to promote the ideas of reduce, reuse, and recycle. The street play demonstrated practical ways for people to cut down on waste in their daily lives. After the performance, the audience participated in an interactive session discussing effective household waste management methods. Abhishek Bhandary and Abijith Hegde from Prithvi Mitra highlighted the importance of sustainable waste disposal. They explained how improper waste management affects the environment. Prithvi Mitra is a social startup focused on turning waste into valuable resources and providing easy access to waste management information. The students also performed a flash mob to engage the crowd. They announced their upcoming event, Edify 2025, which is the institute's major intercollegiate management and cultural fest. Edify celebrates 25 years of excellence and will bring together over 1,000 students from various institutions. The event was attended by Institute Director Molly S. Chaudhuri, Assistant Professor Sathvika Shetty, and other faculty members.
