Study shows goat placenta gel may prevent hair loss in chemotherapy patients
A new study suggests that a gel made from goat placenta may help prevent hair loss in chemotherapy patients. The gel contains growth factors that stimulate hair follicle cells, leading to increased hair growth and density in treated areas. In tests with 11 women undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer, those who applied the gel twice daily saw an average hair length increase of 7mm after four weeks. This contrasts with untreated areas, which showed no growth or hair loss. Current methods, like cold caps, are not suitable for all patients and can cause discomfort. Researchers plan to conduct larger studies to further evaluate the effectiveness of the goat placenta gel.
