Suaalii believes he'll return stronger after injury
Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii, a player for the Waratahs, is recovering from a toe injury and will miss his third match. He is eager to return next Friday against the Hurricanes. Suaalii has only played one game this season, a victory over the Highlanders. Despite his long absence, Suaalii remains confident about his abilities. He believes that his time off will not hurt his chances of playing against the British and Irish Lions. "I’m pretty confident in my ability," he said. While sidelined, he has been studying rugby in a new way, looking at it from a coach's perspective. Suaalii recently attended the Australian Grand Prix and met rugby legend Dan Carter. He enjoyed hearing Carter’s insights on training and preparation. He has also spent time in the coaches’ box with Waratahs coach Dan McKellar, learning from him and the assistant coaches. McKellar noted that there is a lot of interest in Suaalii's recovery, highlighting that the young player attracts attention that is beneficial for both the game and the Waratahs. Suaalii's training has shown good progress, but McKellar opted to hold him back for safety reasons. While he is focusing on his rugby career, Suaalii is also dabbling in music with his former teammate Joey Manu. However, he jokingly mentioned that Manu is much better at it. They enjoy making music together to bond off the field, even though Manu is currently playing in Japan.
