A substitute teacher from Geauga County, Michael Auria, has been charged with child pornography. The 26-year-old worked at Kenston Local Schools in Chagrin Falls. A grand jury indicted Auria earlier this month on multiple charges. These include illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and pandering sexually oriented materials involving a minor. He is also accused of possessing criminal tools and has pleaded not guilty. The investigation into Auria started in July. Kenston Superintendent Bruce Willingham stated that no students from the district were involved in the case. Following the investigation, Auria was removed from the school in December after sheriff's deputies informed the district about the matter. The investigation was led by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Auria was licensed as a substitute teacher for grades pre-K to 12 in 2022. He was released from jail on a personal bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on April 16.
