Sugano and Rutschman strengthening bond through golf

Tomoyuki Sugano and Adley Rutschman have been working on building their connection as teammates on the Baltimore Orioles. Recently, they played a round of golf together to get to know each other better. After the game, Rutschman was asked who the better golfer was. He quickly said Sugano was better. Sugano also weighed in on the question, saying, “Me,” with a smile. Sugano finished spring training with a solid 3.00 ERA, even though he faced some struggles in his last outing. He allowed five runs during the game against the New York Yankees but showed improvement as it went on. Rutschman expressed his support for Sugano, sharing that he is a hardworking and humorous player. They both use English to communicate most of the time, but Rutschman is trying to learn some Japanese. Manager Brandon Hyde noted that the relationship between Rutschman and Sugano is developing well. Hyde also highlighted the importance of team chemistry. He is pleased to see players spending time together outside of games. Sugano is set to make his official MLB debut shortly against the Toronto Blue Jays.
