"Sumathi Valavu" horror film set to release May 8

The film is currently in the editing phase and is set to be released on May 8, according to earlier announcements. In his post, Vishnu shared a picture with the film's editor, Shafique Mohamed Ali. Shafique is known for his work on several notable films. The caption read, "On the edit of Sumathi Valavu." "Sumathi Valavu" started filming on November 30, 2024, in Palakkad. The movie features actors Arjun Ashokan, Balu Varghese, Malavika Manoj, Gokul Suresh, and Saiju Kurup in leading roles. The title was revealed at a launch event in Thiruvananthapuram on May 24, 2024. It is inspired by a local legend from Nedumangad, which includes a haunting story. The film's teaser includes a narration of the legend by an older woman. It hints at the supernatural elements of the story and ends with suspense, setting the tone for the film. "Sumathi Valavu" is written by Abhilash Pillai and features a diverse cast. Think Studios is producing the film in partnership with Waterman Films LLP. This marks Think Studios' first venture into Malayalam cinema.
