Reapply it every two hours, especially after swimming or sweating. Wearing protective clothing and seeking shade during peak sunlight hours is also important. Heat rash occurs when sweat glands get blocked, leading to red, itchy bumps. To avoid heat rash, wear loose and breathable cotton clothing. Staying cool with fans or cool showers can help. Using talcum powder may keep skin dry, too. Acne can also be a problem in the summer. Increased sweat and oil can clog pores. To prevent breakouts, wash your face twice a day with a gentle, oil-free cleanser. Use non-comedogenic sunscreen and makeup, and keep your skin hydrated with a lightweight moisturizer. Dehydrated skin can occur from too much sun exposure. To combat dryness, drink plenty of water and use a moisturizer that contains hyaluronic acid. Avoid excessive alcohol and caffeine, as they can worsen dryness. Sun exposure can cause dark spots and hyperpigmentation. To prevent this, apply sunscreen every day, even on cloudy days. Protect your face with hats and sunglasses, and avoid picking at blemishes. Fungal infections thrive in warm, humid conditions. They can cause issues like athlete’s foot. To prevent these infections, keep your skin dry, especially in areas like between your toes. Change out of sweaty clothes quickly and wear breathable fabrics. Finally, bug bites and allergic reactions can occur in summer due to active insects. To prevent bites, use insect repellent when outdoors. Wearing long sleeves and pants can also help, as well as using creams to soothe any bites. Avoid scented products that can attract insects.
