Summerville brothers sentenced for trafficking counterfeit Viagra
Two brothers from Summerville, Ibrahim and Ahmed Shedid, were sentenced to 26 months in federal prison for trafficking counterfeit Viagra worth over $25 million. They pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges. The brothers operated separate businesses to distribute fake medication, knowingly selling it to convenience stores. Law enforcement seized over 10,000 bottles of counterfeit Viagra during their investigation. Both men must also pay nearly $25.6 million in restitution and will serve three years of supervised release after their prison terms. There is no possibility of parole in the federal system.
