Sunderfolk tabletop RPG launches April 23 for $50
Sunderfolk, a new tabletop RPG party game from Dreamhaven, is set to launch on April 23. The game is inspired by classics like Dungeons & Dragons and popular party games such as Jackbox. A demo version is available to play for free until April 7. Sunderfolk aims to make tabletop gaming more accessible. Players use their smartphones as controllers while the main game is displayed on a TV or monitor. This setup encourages local multiplayer play, although it does support remote gameplay as well. The game's storyline features familiar fantasy themes. Players take on roles as anthropomorphic animal heroes who battle dark creatures in their peaceful town. Players can select from different classes, including arcanist, bard, and rogue, and customize their characters with various weapons and skills. Game Director Erin Marek emphasized the importance of social interaction in Sunderfolk. The goal is to foster a game night atmosphere where friends and family can enjoy the experience together. The demo is available on GeForce Now for players who want a preview of Sunderfolk before its official release. The full game will be sold for $50 and will be playable on platforms like Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Switch. Only the host needs to purchase the game, while friends can download the free app to join in on their phones when it launches.
