Sunita Williams impressed Dubai restaurant workers with Kerala food

NASA astronaut Sunita Williams captured the hearts of restaurant workers in Dubai during her visit for the Sharjah International Book Fair. Williams spent about two hours at Calicut Paragon Restaurant, where staff welcomed her with a special surprise. The restaurant’s general manager, Manikandan Mahadevan, shared that they created a large welcoming board featuring Williams' astronaut picture. This was their first time organizing such a grand reception for a VIP guest. Williams enjoyed a variety of traditional Indian dishes while dining. The restaurant owner, Sumesh Govind, said her favorite was the beetroot halwa with ice cream, which a friend suggested to her. Williams loved it so much she joked about wanting to take it back to space. The staff, including chef Vibin Villas and several waiters, were excited to meet Williams and even took photos with her. They described her as down-to-earth and kind. The team expressed their gratitude for her safe return to Earth and looks forward to welcoming her again on her next visit to Dubai.
