Sunny Deol's *Safar* to release directly on OTT

Sunny Deol is set to star in a new family drama film tentatively titled "Safar." The film focuses on a middle-aged family man, played by Sunny, who learns that helping others brings true happiness. Sources have indicated that the film will not have any action scenes, marking a departure from his typical roles. Instead of a theatrical release, the makers have decided to release "Safar" directly on a streaming platform. They believe that such themes are better suited for digital audiences. A streaming service is expected to be chosen by June, with plans to release the movie by the end of 2025. In the meantime, Sunny is busy promoting his upcoming action drama, "Jaat," which will hit theaters on April 10, 2025. Recently, he revealed a short video introducing Randeep Hooda, who plays the antagonist. The teaser shows Randeep's character in a police station and later in rain, showcasing his intense persona. "Jaat" also features an ensemble cast, including Viineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, and Regina Cassandra. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, with action sequences designed by well-known choreographers. Sunny Deol will also appear in "Lahore 1947" alongside Preity Zinta and in "Border 2."
