Sunrisers Hyderabad retains key players and acquires Mohammad Shami ahead of IPL 2025 auction

Sunrisers Hyderabad retained four players ahead of the 2025 IPL Mega Auction, including Pat Cummins and Abhishek Sharma. They spent 75 crores from their budget, leaving them with 45 crores for new signings. In the auction, SRH acquired Mohammad Shami for 10 crores. The team reached the IPL final in 2024 but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders. They previously won the IPL in 2016. The retention rules allow teams to keep a maximum of six players, with a total budget of 120 crores for both retention and the auction.
