Suo motu case filed for inflammatory speech in Malpe
Malpe police have registered another case linked to the recent assault at Malpe harbour. The new case involves activist Manju Kola, who is accused of making provocative speeches during a protest. The protest was organized by the Malpe Fishermen's Association and other fishing unions on March 22. This gathering followed a disturbing incident where a woman was tied to a tree and assaulted. During the protest, Kola allegedly delivered a speech that incited the crowd. He spoke about the possibility of blocking a national highway and made statements that stirred anger and emotions among the attendees. Authorities say he also challenged the local Superintendent of Police. The police have filed the case under specific sections of the law. An investigation is currently underway. This follows an earlier case against former minister Pramod Madhwaraj for similar reasons, also related to provocative speeches.
