Super Typhoon Pepito leads to evacuation of over 200,000 in Sorsogon, Philippines

Super Typhoon Pepito prompted the evacuation of over 200,000 residents in Sorsogon province, Philippines, as a precautionary measure. As of November 17, 53,832 families are in evacuation centers across 365 barangays. Governor Edwin Hamor imposed a curfew starting November 15 to enhance safety. The curfew restricts movement from 6 pm, but no end date has been announced. No casualties have been reported, and roads remain passable. However, sea travel is suspended at Matnog and Pilar ports until storm warnings are lifted. PAGASA continues to monitor the situation as heavy rain persists.
