Super Typhoon Pepito makes landfall in Catanduanes with powerful winds
Super Typhoon Pepito, also known as Man-yi, made landfall in Catanduanes at 9:40 p.m. on November 16. The storm's eye was located near Panganiban, with maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h and gusts reaching 325 km/h. The Philippine weather bureau reported that Pepito is moving west-northwest at 25 km/h. It is expected to continue over waters north of Camarines Provinces and may approach the Calaguas Islands. Pepito is projected to pass near Polillo Islands and make landfall in northern Quezon or southern Aurora on November 17. The storm will then move across northern Central Luzon before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility on November 18.
