Even comedian Jon Stewart agreed with Trump, saying paper straws are “terrible.” On the other hand, some users, like New Yorker Charlie Greenman, appreciate the unique experience that paper straws offer. The debate over straws began years ago after a video showed a sea turtle with a plastic straw in its nose. Since then, many cities have moved to reduce plastic straw use. While paper straws are seen as a more eco-friendly option, experts argue they may not be a perfect solution. Some studies suggest they might contain harmful chemicals.
