Surviving siblings of Harlem boy who died of starvation placed in foster care
A Manhattan Family Court judge has ordered the three surviving siblings of 4-year-old Jah’Meik Modlin to be placed temporarily in a foster home in Westchester County. This decision follows Jah’Meik's death from starvation and neglect. The siblings, aged 5, 6, and 7, were rescued from their home on October 13 and have been receiving medical care. Their parents are in custody, facing charges related to the alleged abuse and neglect of the children. The judge denied a request to place the siblings with their aunt, citing concerns about her lack of recent contact and the need for further assessments. The court has also ordered evaluations of all relatives seeking custody.
