Survivor of borderline inoperable pancreatic cancer celebrates five years cancer-free and raises awareness
Bryony Thomas, diagnosed with borderline inoperable pancreatic cancer in December 2019, is now celebrating five years cancer-free. Initially given just weeks to live, she underwent successful surgery to remove the tumor and affected lymph nodes. After her operation, Bryony received chemotherapy and now takes lifelong medication for pancreatic enzyme replacement. She aims to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer symptoms, emphasizing the importance of discussing health issues openly. Bryony plans to run the London Marathon for Pancreatic Cancer UK. She highlights symptoms like pale or floating stools and urges better communication about health concerns to aid early diagnosis.
