Suspect arrested for kidnapping at North Charleston DMV
A 51-year-old man was held at gunpoint at a North Charleston DMV on March 21. He was confronted by two suspects, John Lucas and Kristeena Bosarge, over a vehicle title dispute. Lucas allegedly handcuffed the man to his car and threatened him with violence. During the altercation, the victim motioned for help at the DMV. An attentive employee noticed his distress and asked if he needed assistance. The victim nodded, alerting the employee to call the police. Lucas allowed the victim to retrieve the correct vehicle title from his home before driving to the DMV, where the suspects trapped his car in the parking lot. The police arrived soon after the employee's intervention and arrested both suspects. Inside their vehicle, officers found two handguns and a shotgun. Lucas, 31, faces charges of kidnapping and weapon possession. He was denied bail for the kidnapping charge but was granted bond for the weapon charges. His first court appearance is scheduled for mid-May. Bosarge, 28, was charged with kidnapping and received a $25,000 bond. She is prohibited from returning to the DMV or contacting the victim. As of March 24, she remained in custody, having not posted bail.
