Suspicious motel fire in Toowoomba prompts police investigation

A woman was hospitalized after a suspicious fire at a motel in Toowoomba on Sunday. The fire broke out in a motel room on Boundary Street around 1:33 AM. Emergency services responded quickly, and guests evacuated safely. Firefighters contained the blaze to one room and had it out by 2:20 AM. Six people were checked for smoke inhalation, and a 34-year-old woman was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in stable condition. The Queensland Fire Department is investigating the fire. However, police have deemed it suspicious and declared the area a crime scene. They are also looking into the cause of the fire, which caused significant damage.
