Suvendu and Dilip discuss election strategies in Kolkata

Kolkata - Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in Bengal, met with former BJP national vice president Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday. This meeting took place after Adhikari's recent gathering with state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar in New Delhi. During their meeting at the assembly, BJP lawmakers expressed support for the alliance between Adhikari and Ghosh. Ghosh received a warm welcome from the MLAs, who greeted him with flowers. This was a change from last year when Ghosh had avoided the gathering and chose to stay away from Adhikari's chamber. Adhikari has been making efforts to strengthen ties with Ghosh since their previous interaction. Ghosh, who arrived in the afternoon, immediately went to meet Adhikari. Together, they discussed strategies for upcoming elections, acknowledging the importance of unity. Ghosh emphasized the need for the MLAs to engage more with the public as they prepare for their second terms. He suggested they hold informal meetings over tea and interact with locals at markets to boost grassroots support. Looking ahead, Ghosh plans to travel throughout the districts and collaborate with Adhikari and Majumdar on campaign strategies. When asked about the leadership of the Bengal BJP, Ghosh stated he felt it was time for new leadership, now that he has completed two terms as state president.
