Switch 2 may offer enhanced 60 FPS for games
A modder has discovered a potential new feature for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This feature could enhance the graphics of existing Switch games, making them look better on the new console. More details about the Switch 2 are expected at the Nintendo Direct event on April 2. The console will be able to run both physical and digital games from the current Switch, but its performance specs remain unclear. The modder, known as MasaGratoR, analyzed the code of "Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition," released on March 20. He found a reference to a hidden 60 frames per second (FPS) mode, which could improve gameplay. However, this mode has issues when activated, causing some visual glitches. MasaGratoR noted that this type of code has not been seen in other Xenoblade titles. This raises speculation that it could be a feature planned for the Switch 2. Fans are hopeful that this means the new console might support upscaling for older games. In comparison, the PS5 Pro features a similar technology that aims for 60 FPS with improved graphics. Nintendo fans will have to wait until April 2 for more information about the Switch 2 and its capabilities.
