Sydney designer Velani has created a striking gown for model Hannah Dal Sasso, inspired by an iconic design from Italian fashion label Schiaparelli. Dal Sasso wore the dress at the Glamour on the Grid event last week in Melbourne, drawing attention for its dramatic style. The gown is a strapless piece featuring a deep blue satin skirt. It closely resembles a similar dress worn by Russian model Tatiana Korsakova at the BAFTA Awards in February. Velani's designer, Nicky Apostolopoulos, made some adjustments, including a velvet corset and darker colors, but acknowledged the original inspiration. "We're all inspired by overseas designers," said Apostolopoulos. She emphasized that taking inspiration doesn't equate to copying. "I think we did a lovely tribute, and that’s what she loved," she explained. Hannah Dal Sasso made her appearance at the event with her new boyfriend, Rupert McLean, just after her breakup with professional tennis player Thanasi Kokkinakis. She shared that she met McLean through mutual friends and felt a strong connection with him. The couple's romance is new, but Dal Sasso expressed happiness about their relationship. Meanwhile, Thanasi Kokkinakis has recently been seen with model Paige Henry, sparking rumors of a romance between them.
