Syracuse Crunch wins 3-0 against Lehigh Valley Phantoms
The Syracuse Crunch secured a 3-0 victory over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Thursday night at PPL Center. This win marks the Crunch's fifth consecutive victory of the season. Conor Geekie was the standout player, scoring two goals in the second period. Anthony Angello added another goal in the third period to seal the match. The team's record now stands at 28 wins, 19 losses, 8 overtime losses, and 4 shootout losses. Goaltender Matt Tomkins started strong, stopping all 16 shots on goal before being replaced by Ryan Fanti in the third period. Fanti continued the shutout by saving the additional four shots he faced. This game also marked the Crunch's eighth shutout of the season. The game began slowly, with no goals in the first period. The Crunch took the lead early in the second period when Geekie scored on a power play just over a minute in. He then quickly added another goal halfway through the period. Angello capped off the scoring with his goal in the third period. The Crunch will host the Rochester Americans in their next game on Saturday.
