Syrians loot Assad's palace as rebel forces declare Damascus liberated
Syrians are looting the palace of deposed President Bashar al-Assad after rebel forces declared Damascus "liberated." Footage shows people taking luxury items, including Louis Vuitton goods, as Assad reportedly fled the country. Reports indicate that looters also breached the Central Bank, taking cash, and discovered a garage filled with luxury cars. Statues of Assad were toppled and paraded through the streets. Assad's regime has collapsed after 23 years in power, with control now in the hands of the rebel group HTS. Russia confirmed that Assad has resigned and is believed to have fled to Russia.
