Tahj Brooks breaks Texas Tech rushing record
Running back Tahj Brooks has made headlines with his impressive performance at Texas Tech University. Over five years, he set a new school record by rushing for 4,557 yards. This achievement surpassed the previous record held by Byron Hanspard. Last week, Brooks showcased his skills during the NFL Pro Day at the Dallas Cowboys' Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. Many NFL scouts attended the event, and Brooks was eager to demonstrate his talent. He enjoyed the opportunity to compete at a high level and network with other players from the Big 12 conference. Brooks shared his thoughts about the experience, stating, "It’s been fun competing... and just talking to scouts." He also mentioned having an informal meeting with the Cowboys ahead of his Pro Day. When asked what it would mean to join the team, he replied simply, “It’d be a blessing.” The Cowboys have strengthened their running back position during the offseason by signing Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. This may reduce the likelihood of them selecting another running back. However, there could still be a chance for Brooks if the team sees potential in what he could add to their offense.
