Taiwan is set to showcase its latest films and series at the Hong Kong FilMart on March 18. The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) will highlight four key productions. Leading the showcase is the romantic film "Penguin Girl," featuring stars Charlize Lamb and Hua Chen. Another film, "That Burning House," addresses important social issues like child protection and juvenile crime. This drama comes from the creators of "Tears on Fire," with cast members Fandy Fan and Tseng Jing Hua expected to attend. For action fans, "96 Minutes" is a thrilling ride set on a bullet train. It features a bomb plot and stars Lee-Zen Lee, Yi-Ti Yao, and Jacob Wang. Additionally, the black comedy series "A Controversial Entertainer" follows five men aiming to become top male hosts. The cast includes actress Nana Lee and producer-actor Chen I. Beyond these featured productions, Taiwan's pavilion will host 90 companies showcasing over 250 titles across different genres. Among the notable titles are "The King of Nightmarket," highlighting Taiwan's street food culture, and "Tabloid," a drama about the entertainment industry's dark side. The sci-fi mystery "-197°C" will be presented by directors Fung Kai, Tsai Yueh-hsun, and Chen Kuan-chung. Romantic viewers can look forward to "Marriage Exposed," starring Ariel Lin and Jerry Yan. There's also "Haunted Mountains: The Yellow Taboo," from the team behind "The Tag-Along." Taiwan’s efforts for international co-productions will be represented at the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum, with seven projects seeking investment. TAICCA chair Homme Tsai emphasized the importance of FilMart for actors and creators. He hopes Taiwan's talent will seize this chance to showcase their works and attract buyers from across Asia. The Taiwan Pavilion is supported by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, promoting Taiwanese creativity globally.
