Taiwan showcases smart, low-carbon transport innovations at expo

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications in Taiwan launched the "Net Zero Mobility ∞ Smart Co-Action" Transportation Vision Pavilion at the 2025 Smart City Summit and Expo. This event runs from March 18 to 21 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. The pavilion highlights the goals of promoting sustainable transportation through digital technology and net-zero transformations. Minister Chen Shih-Kai opened the pavilion, aiming to unite government and private sector efforts to address transportation challenges. The pavilion includes three main themes: Low Carbon, Green, and Technology, showcasing Taiwan's advancements in smart and eco-friendly transport solutions. The Low Carbon theme focuses on initiatives to electrify vehicles and promote green transportation. This includes the full electrification of city buses by 2030 and various public transport projects, like the TPASS monthly ticket initiative, which has seen millions of rides since its launch. The Green theme displays innovations like smart airports and green harbors, emphasizing sustainable airport designs. In the Technology area, advanced technologies such as AI and big data will be showcased. These technologies aim to enhance the transportation network, making it smarter and more efficient. Interactive experiences, including Q&A games about electric buses, are available for visitors to engage with the showcased technologies. The pavilion is a collaborative effort, involving local governments and private companies, aimed at educating the public on recent developments in transportation technology and sustainability. It welcomes all visitors to explore the future of transportation in Taiwan up to March 21.
