Tamil Nadu MPs to seek fair delimitation from Modi

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that a group of Members of Parliament from the state will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They will ask him to ensure a fair delimitation process. This is important for protecting the political representation and democratic rights of Tamil Nadu and other states. Stalin spoke about this in the Legislative Assembly after a recent meeting of the Joint Action Committee on Fair Delimitation in Chennai. He noted that Tamil Nadu's leadership on this issue has influenced discussions across the country. The meeting included other state officials, including Chief Ministers from Kerala, Telangana, and Punjab. One key resolution from the meeting was to conduct the delimitation process transparently and in consultation with the states. It was also proposed to extend the current freeze on delimitation for an additional 25 years and to protect states that have implemented population control measures. Stalin thanked all political parties, including the opposition party AIADMK, for their participation in the Joint Action Committee. He emphasized the need to take action to protect the rights of states and ensure a just delimitation process. The delegation plans to meet the Prime Minister in the upcoming Parliament session to formally present their requests.
