Tantrik blamed for Alwar teacher's suicide, under investigation
A government school teacher in Alwar, Guddi Devi, took her own life on Sunday. She was found hanged in her home in the Aravalli Vihar area. In her suicide note, she blamed a local tantrik, or spiritual healer, for her death. The police have detained the tantrik, identified as Devisahay Kumhar, and are questioning him about the claims made in the note. Guddi Devi lived with her husband, Ramkishan, who is also a teacher, in Surajmal Colony for the past 18 months. According to the note, Guddi Devi alleged that the tantrik read her palm without her consent when she was in high school and later performed rituals on her. She requested that her children not suffer as a result of her death. Before she died, she sent her suicide note to family members via phone. Her brother, Shivram, expressed that the tantrik had frightened her deeply. The police have completed her postmortem, and her family has filed an official complaint against the tantrik. Investigations are ongoing to determine the facts surrounding this tragic event.
