Tara Fleming reported missing before documentary premiere

A star of the upcoming Netflix documentary "Twister: Caught in the Storm," Tara Fleming, has been reported missing just days before the show's release. She was last seen in Tulsa, Oklahoma, according to her ex-boyfriend, Steven Weersing. A missing persons report was filed on March 17, 2025. Weersing revealed that Fleming was robbed of her possessions and was frightened at the time. He expressed concern for her safety in a Facebook post and asked for help in finding her. Fleming and Weersing both appear in the documentary, which focuses on the devastating 2011 tornado that hit Joplin, Missouri. The tornado resulted in 158 deaths and many injuries. Fleming supported Weersing during his recovery from severe injuries he sustained during the disaster, and their relationship developed from that experience. Weersing's new girlfriend also shared concerns on social media about Fleming's whereabouts. Later, Weersing updated that Fleming had been found but was stuck in Tulsa and unable to return to Joplin. "Twister: Caught in the Storm" is now available for streaming on Netflix.
