Tare Bistro in Bristol closes due to financial issues
A popular restaurant in Bristol, Tare Bistro, has announced its sudden closure just months after receiving recognition from the Michelin Guide. The restaurant, known for its modern British cuisine, closed immediately due to "difficult financial circumstances." In a heartfelt message on social media, the Tare Bistro team expressed gratitude to customers, suppliers, and staff. They reassured everyone that the staff had found new jobs, suppliers were paid, and they were up to date on rent. Tare Bistro received a Bib Gourmand in the 2025 Michelin Guide for its quality dining at reasonable prices. The restaurant opened in October 2023 as a casual sister venue to Tare Restaurant, which closed in April 2024. The hospitality industry is currently facing significant challenges, including rising energy bills and inflation. Many restaurants are struggling as consumers cut back on dining out due to the increased cost of living. Large chains like Wetherspoons and Frankie & Benny's have also been affected, with some locations closing as businesses adapt to the difficult financial landscape.
