Tata Sierra revives with new design and features

Tata Motors is set to revive the Tata Sierra, an iconic SUV, with a modern design and new features. The company showcased the updated version at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January. The official launch is expected by the end of this year. Testing for the 2025 Sierra is currently in progress. Several test models have been spotted recently. The new Sierra will compete with popular models like the Mahindra Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny, and it will be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) versions. The 2025 Sierra features a refreshed look with a high-mounted bonnet, split headlamps, and a stylish grille. It will have a five-door layout, improving upon the earlier three-door design from the '90s. Other design elements include body-colored and blacked-out pillars and roof rails. While the complete list of features has not been disclosed, expected amenities include a large digital instrument panel, a touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced safety features. Additionally, it will come equipped with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. For the engine options, the 2025 Sierra will likely come with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine offering 165 HP and a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170 HP. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmission options. Prices for the new Sierra are anticipated to start around Rs 13 lakh, with stronger performance compared to traditional body-on-frame competitors. The launch is eagerly awaited by enthusiasts and is scheduled for late 2025.
