Tate Modern's 25th birthday party includes live music

Tate Modern, one of London's most famous art galleries, is celebrating its 25th birthday this May. To mark this milestone, the gallery will host a large weekend party from May 9 to May 12. The celebration will feature free workshops, live music, and late openings. Visitors can enjoy live performances, DJ sets, and art installations throughout the birthday weekend. There will also be tarot readings and two free exhibitions, "A Year in Art: 2050" and "Gathering Ground," which explore the future of art and important social issues. A special highlight of the event will be a display of 25 significant artworks that have been featured at Tate Modern over the years. This includes well-known pieces like Louise Bourgeois' giant spider sculpture and Mark Rothko's stunning paintings. The gallery is partnering with Uniqlo for this event. Uniqlo will offer creative workshops for families and a pop-up shop with limited edition t-shirts featuring famous artwork. Karin Hindsbo, the gallery's director, emphasized that the celebration is a way to reflect on the past while also looking to the future of art. She said the weekend will be a public celebration that welcomes everyone to enjoy creativity.
