TCS boosts workforce with 40,000 new hires planned for fiscal year 2025
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has reversed its declining headcount trend by hiring 5,726 employees in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025, following 5,452 new hires in the first quarter. The total employee count now stands at 612,724. This marks the first time in four quarters that TCS has increased its workforce after a previous decline. The company plans to hire 40,000 freshers by March 2025 and has already started campus recruitment for the next fiscal year. Despite a slight rise in attrition to 12.3%, TCS reported a 5% increase in net profit for the quarter, totaling Rs 11,909 crore. Revenue also rose by 7.6% year-over-year, reaching Rs 64,259 crore.
