Teacher charged with child abuse in Delaware

Christopher Crisona, a 57-year-old elementary school teacher, has been charged with child abuse in Delaware. His arrest occurred on March 10 in Orange County, Florida. Crisona faces seven felony charges related to alleged abuse of a former student at St. Thomas the Apostle School in Wilmington, where he taught from 1994 to 1996. The charges against Crisona include unlawful sexual intercourse, unlawful sexual penetration, and continuous sexual abuse of a child. These allegations came to light during an investigation into abuse claims at the school involving other individuals, including an 80-year-old priest. The Attorney General of Delaware stated that the case involves serious abuse by trusted adults. The victim, who initially reported the abuse, experienced trauma over several years. Crisona was removed from his teaching position in 1996 due to a complaint and has worked at various schools in Florida since then. Crisona, who appeared on the game show Family Feud in 2010, is currently being held without bond. There is a possibility he may be extradited to Delaware. Crisona's most recent job was as a first-grade teacher in Florida. The local school district has indicated he will not return while the investigation is ongoing.
