Teachers honored for helping slow learners improve skills
On Friday, Chief Educational Officer Sivakumar recognized teachers at a government school for their dedication and innovative teaching methods. These teachers have helped slow learners improve in Tamil, English, and Mathematics. Sivakumar has launched the 'Mission Delta' program to support students in Classes VI to IX. The program uses informal tests and breaks lessons into smaller sections to make learning easier. After seeing positive results, the initiative has been expanded to all government and government-aided schools in the district. During a surprise visit to the Government High School in Vijayanarayanam, Sivakumar was pleased with the success of 'Mission Delta.' He spoke with Headmistress Suganthi Darling to learn about their effective strategies, especially for students from low-income families. The Chief Educational Officer encouraged other schools in the district to adopt these teaching methods. He honored the teachers involved, including Suganthi Darling, Michael Ravichandran, Merlin Rajathi, Suyamathi, and volunteer Rose Mary, for their contributions to student learning.
